Premier League Rivals desperate for defender to sign new deal amid Chelsea interest 1

Burnley are keen to offer a new deal for their star defender Michael Keane amid interest from various clubs across Premier League.

The 23-year old has joined Burnley last season from Manchester United and played a key role in helping the club win promotion to Premier League this summer. The young defender has been a target for Leicester City throughout the summer as the Premier League champions failed to land him.

However, Chelsea have shown their interest in the defender after failing to land their key targets in the summer as they were forced to make a move for David Luiz on the deadline day to add more depth to their defense.

The Blues have stepped up their interest in the recent days as they look to sign him in the winter transfer window. The 23-year old has been impressive with Burnley since his move last summer as he earned his first England call which have drawn further attention from clubs across Europe.

Keane remains an important player for manager Dyche as he looks to ward off interest by offering him a new deal which would see him earn a considerable amount of money than what he is earning currently at the club.

Dyche has confirmed that the defender is not going anywhere despite all the interest from their rivals.

“It’s just life at Burnley,'” he said.

“It’s that balance of respect that people recognise some of our players but also were we’re not activity selling players.

“Keano’s been really clear-minded through the summer. He is not for sale.”

The newly promoted side are keen to keep hold of him as Blues are ready to tempt them with a massive £25 million offer in January according to earlier reports. It remains to be seen whether the defender will sign a new deal as Conte is desperate to make a squad overhaul to bring Chelsea back on track.
