Blow for Liverpool as Brazilian duo doubtful for Manchester United clash 1

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho will be unhappy with the result at Old Trafford against Mark Hughes’ Stoke City side leading into the international break.

They will have to come out all guns blazing in their next league game with a trip to Anfield, a new and a renovated one awaits them after the break.

Both teams have some star studded players who can win the game on their own on their day and are sure to produce an historic match on the night.

Jose Mourinho has a couple of injuries to deal with in Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw, both of who are doubtful for this game.

However, that does not begin to describe the short-comings for the home side.

Klopp has been able to use a settled lineup for most games this season but he will miss the services of star midfielder Adam Lallana who has made a sizzling start to his campaign.

The former Southampton man picked up an groin injury in the game against Swansea and initial scans have put him out for up to two weeks leaving him no chance to make it to the game at Anfield.

Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne were both declared fit for this game but Klopp now has a huge problem in hand with two of his star players bust with international duty far away from home.

Brazilian dup Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino were both selected in Tite’s national side for the country and both the players looked in form in the game against Bolivia on Thursday.

Coutinho and Firmino both scored a goal a piece with Coutinho bagging an assist for Firmino’s goal. They have looked superb at the start of the new season and are soon becoming an integral part of the national side.

Though it is the best way for players to learn, Klopp will be wary of the fatigue factor that might set in ahead of the game against Manchester United.

The Brazilian boss recently revealed that Coutinho is now an important member of the squad and that he is expected to start most games for the side this year.

Brazil play Venezuela on Tuesday next week and Coutinho is expected to start that game with Firmino on the bench. This leaves the duo just over 4 days to be back in shape for the United clash and Klopp have to make sure that they are in the best shape to take on their arch rivals.

They are expected to arrive in England on Saturday, which leaves no time for training and Liverpool might have to be content with a place on the bench for both their stars.

The English outfit may yet decide to get them back to the country separately like Klopp did to Coutinho in the previous international break but at the moment, both players are doubtful for the crunch tie.
