I sit down and watch whenever Kohli comes to the crease: Mickey Arthur 1

Just like the millions out there, Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has admitted that he loves to see Indian batting sensation Virat Kohli in action. Recalling some memorable knocks of Kohli during the 2014-15 Test series Down Under, the former Australia coach heaped lavish praise on the India Test captain.

“I love watching Virat (Kohli)… He’s phenomenal and is one batsman I sit down and watch whenever he comes to the crease. He’s right up there with the best I’ve seen… I still recall his 141 in the second innings of the Adelaide Test almost two years ago. He’d got a hundred (115) in the first innings as well,” he told The Telegraph.

Virat Kohli recently led the India team to a 3-0 whitewash against New Zealand and also become the first Indian captain to score two double centuries in Test after he scored 211 in the final Test at Indore. His first double century came against West Indies a couple of months ago.

When the Pakistan coach was asked about Kohli’s captaincy, he said: “Virat’s an interesting captain… He’s exuberant and very passionate about what he does. His passion for the top job comes through in abundance.”

India replaced Pakistan from the top of the Test ranking after winning the Test series and also received the ICC Test Championship mace. When Arthur was asked about the rankings, he said: “Rankings don’t reveal everything, but are an indication of the success you taste as a team… Other things too have to be taken into account… As a coach, I want every player to get better and better. I get the maximum satisfaction when I work with a young player and he responds with performances. More than the rankings, it’s about competing at a certain level and attaining success. I can cite the example of Younis.”
