Arsenal fans can finally heave a sigh of relief as the saga of contract extension of two of their biggest stars -Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil is going in a positive direction.
Both the players are in the penultimate years of their contracts at the Emirates and there were speculations that they might leave the club sooner than later after they seemed reluctant to pen a new deal due to their wage demands. Both Ozil and Sanchez were demanding a whopping £250,000-a-week to extend their contracts until 2020, with the diminishing value of the pound compelling the players to up their original salary demands.
But according to reports, the star duo is willing to sign a new deal with the North London club. In fact, there is one more good news for the fans as Arsene Wenger, who is in his final year of the contract with the club, is also ready to sign a new deal.

English news outlet The Times has reported that the Arsenal boss is putting the final touches to a new two-year deal which will help persuade Sanchez and Ozil to extend their stay at the Emirates.
After making a slow start to the season, the Gunners have hit the top gear. After thrashing Ludogorets 6-0 in the Champions League, a 17th successive qualification for the knockout stage is now a mere formality. In the league, they are trailing table-toppers Manchester City only by, goal difference. And Ozil and Sanchez have played a significant role in the impressive display so far. Ozil scored his first hat-trick in an Arsenal shirt during the Lodogorets game. Sanchez was also on the scoresheet.
With the team brimming with confidence,Wenger said after the Ludogorets triumph: “Our confidence is stronger with every win but we have to keep the vigilance and the urgency to bring that into the next game.
“Let’s not be too quick on the verdict. We have a strong squad and a strong spirit, but you have to take care of it and keep your feet on the ground. The only way to win something big is to focus on the next one and work on humility.”
