Jose Mourinho and Manchester United fell to their worst defeat this season when they were humiliated by Mourinho’s former club Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Goals from Pedro, Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and N Golo Kante were enough to give all three points to the hosts who now move to the 4th place in the points table. United are now without a win in the last two games in the league and have a lot of ground to catch up at the top of the table while Conte seems to have settled into a new system that is working at the club.
Here are the player ratings for both sides for this game:
Chelsea:
Thibaut Courtois (6):
Made a couple of important saves to put in a good performance and steal a clean sheet.
Cesar Azpilicueta (7):
Seems to thrive in a 3-man defense putting in an excellent performance on the night.
David Luiz (5):
Reckless and nervy at times but did well to keep United away from danger on the night.
Gary Cahill (6):
Stuck to his task well at the back and also helped his side with a goal on the night.
Victor Moses (7):
A lively performance on the flank as he added to his side’s efforts on both ends of the field.
Nemanja Matic (7):
A commanding and confident performance from the midfielder who is slowly picking up some form.
N Golo Kante (8):
A powerhouse in the midfield for Chelsea who kept the ball rolling and helped his side with a well taken goal.
Marcos Alonso (7):
Another player settling well into Conte’s system who put in a brave and confident display on the night.
Pedro (7):
Opened the scoring with just 30 seconds on the clock and was a constant threat in attack all night for United.
Eden Hazard (9):

Man of the Match on the night as the Belgian was back to his best, tormenting the United defense all night to take all three points from this game while also finding the back of the net.
Diego Costa (6):
A frustrating night for the Spaniard who created chances but failed to get on the score sheet.
Subs:
Michy Batshuayi (6):
Came in with around 15 minutes to play and put in a decent shift.
Willian (6):
Got just over 10 minutes of game time under his belt after missing the previous game.
Manchester United:
David de Gea (6):
Had a couple of saves to make but could not do much to stop any of the goals from Chelsea.
Antonio Valencia (5):
A less than impressive performance on the flank where he was a liability for most of the game.
Eric Bailly (5):
Played just half of the game before picking up an injury and was far from convincing on the night.
Chris Smalling (4):
Disastrous and total shambles is what can describe Smalling’s game at the Bridge on Sunday.
Daley Blind (5):
Played on the flank and also as a center back on the night but was largely ineffective in stopping Chelsea’s attacks.
Marouane Fellaini (5):
Another player who picked up an injury on the night failing to impress before being replaced.
Ander Herrera (6):
A decent performance in the midfield as he tried hard but could not get his side out of the slump.
Jesse Lingard (5):
Did nothing extraordinary but put in a decent shift on the night against Chelsea.
Paul Pogba (5):

Still a shadow of his self from Juventus, Pogba, had yet another game to forget at the Bridge on Sunday.
Marcus Rashford (5):
Though tried to put some pressure on the Chelsea attack, was just not good enough to have an impact on the game.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (4):
A lone figure throughout the game as he failed to link with his team in a below-par performance on the night.
Subs:
Juan Mata (5):
Tried to add some spark in the final third but failed to have the kind of an impact needed on the game.
Marcos Rojo (5):
Replaced the injured Bailly at the back but failed to strengthen the defense of his side in the second half.
Anthony Martial (5):
Came in with more than 20 minutes to play but that was not long enough for the Frenchman to have an effect on the game.
