Inter Milan interested in Manchester United flop! 1

Manchester United have not been off to a great start in the league this season picking up just 14 points from the first 9 games. Jose Mourinho, the new manager at Old Trafford spent close to £150m in the transfer window before the season but has not been able to settle into a starting XI that can beat most teams in the league.

There are a number of under-performers in the squad at the moment and the manager will know that he will have to replace all the deadwood in the squad to get the club back to its best.

The likes of Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Marcos Rojo have already been linked with an exit in January but one player that is now linked with a move away from the club is Wayne Rooney.

The England international is currently the captain of his side for club and country but is going through a bad patch of form. He started the new season consistently under the new manager but having failed to prove himself, he is now reduced to appearances from the bench.

Recently, it was reported that he was asked to find a new club for regular football and this has seen Italian giants Inter Milan linked with a move for the 31-year old.

The long-serving Merseyside-born England international has won close to everything in his time in Manchester and is the second highest goal scorer for the club in their history. He has been influential in their successful times for more than a decade now but has just not been able to provide the kind of performances recently.

He will stay at the club until the end of the season but unless he is back in form in the next few months, it will be hard for him to impress enough from the bench for the rest of the season.

Inter Milan is not the only club interested in his services as Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG are also planning to lure him to Asia with a big money deal.

However, according to Calciomercato, the former Italian champions are the most likely destination for the Manchester United man.

Though not at the top his game anymore, Rooney is still a world class player but it will be up to Jose Mourinho to decide if he wants to replace him, or let him stay at the club and serve on the bench.

Do you think Wayne Rooney will leave Manchester United at the end of the season?
