LA Galaxy want to replace Steven Gerrard with Manchester United outcast 1

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has not been able to lift any silverware in his time in the MLS and he has recently spoken about ending his career at his new club LA Galaxy at the end of the current season.

The MLS outfit has been able to lure some of the best talents from Europe in recent times and they will be devastated by the loss of the England international at the end of the season. However, they are already lining up a replacement for the former Liverpool skipper and are reportedly close to reaching a deal.

Manchester United and England skipper Wayne Rooney, is reportedly on the radar of LA Galaxy, who want to replace him with Steven Gerrard after the end of the current season.

The 36-year old midfielder recently posted a message on Instagram to his fans at the MLS and the message looked like a farewell message ahead of his exit from the club.

In that post, he termed the chance to play for the club as a privilege and went on to thank the City and the Club for their support.

So it is expected that the former England international will announce his retirement soon and the MLS outfit does not want to waste any time in bringing another England legend to the club.

According to reports today, the US-based football club have made an approach for the 31-year old attacker, and have inquired about his price for a move next summer.

Wayne Rooney is still one of the best players in the Premier League and is not too far away from shackling the goal scoring records for the club in the Premier League.

He has won almost everything in his time at Old Trafford and is now a captain of the side, who is not able to get into the starting XI. Jose Mourinho the new manager at the club, started the season with Rooney in a number 10 role but the England international failed to have any kind of an impact on the squad and has since been reduced to appearances from the bench.

LA Galaxy to Introduce Ashley Cole and Jelle Van Damme

Rooney has already spoken about wanting to stay at the club and fight for his place but with LA Galaxy coming up with a lucrative offer, it might hard for the 31-year old to refuse it and stay in Manchester for another year.

The US outfit is not the only team interested in his signature as the likes of Inter Milan and Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG are also monitoring his situation.

It will be interesting to see if Mourinho is ready to let go of the club captain but if LA Galaxy can get their man, it will be an able replacement for the Liverpool legend.

Do you think it is time for Rooney to move to the MLS?
