Twitter reacts as Manchester United were frustrated by Burnley 1

Manchester United are still not showing any signs of improvement up front as they were held to a goalless stalemate at home by Burnley.

After registering a 1-0 win over city rivals Manchester City in midweek, the Red Devils would have wanted to get their Premier League back on track with a win over Sean Dyche’s man but were left frustrated by several unsuccessful penalty appeals,a series of saves by brilliant Burnley goalie Tom Heaton.

The match turned even worse for the Old Trafford outfit when their manager Jose Mourinho and midfielder Ander Herrera were sent off. The underfire manager was sent to the stands after he was incensed just before the half-time when referee Mark Clattenburg did not award a penalty as Matteo Darmian went down close to Burnley’s Jon Flanagan inside the box.

United created plenty of chances but their attackers let them down on several occasions. Juan Mata, who was wearing the captain’s armband, struck the woodwork, Zlatan Ibrahimovic then hit the post and also had a volley saved by Heaton. The Swede also missed a sitter late in second half to cap off another frustrating match day for the Red Devils.
