On the auspicious day of Deepawali, in front of national selectors, the discarded Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh shone with a superlative double century against Baroda at Feroz Shah Kota stadium here in the state capital Delhi. Chasing a mammoth total of 530 in the second innings of the game, Punjab had a lose start losing first early wicket but from then each and every succeeding batsman contributed their best to ensure that Punjab is on the right track until last.
However, Yuvraj Singh was the pick of the day as the moment he ran two off Yusuf Pathan, the Indian all-rounder raised hi bat and celebrated the moment as the batsman had crossed the 200 run mark. First, he took a sigh of relief and then raised his bat towards the Sarandeep Singh, the national selectors who were present at the stadium.
But the best part was yet to come as soon after this, a handful of people present in the stadium started demanding a six from Yuvraj. He did not disappoint as he smashed a huge six straight down the ground which went beneath the media box in hands of the crowd. One more followed on demand. This was a perfect innings from Yuvraj Singh who sparked on the day of Diwali.
Earlier in the day, opener Manan Vohra added 23 runs to his overnight total of 201 before getting out on a score of 224. Pujab ahs gained the first innings lead and will take away 3 points from here
