United hit by huge blow: Mourinho facing serious FA sanction after referee confrontation 1

It is safe to say Jose Mourinho didn’t enjoy his Saturday afternoon.

The Manchester United manager watched his team fail to convert a host of chances before ultimately drawing 0-0 against Burnley and he had to watch the second half of the stalemate from the stands after a confrontation with match official Mark Clattenburg.

And, in the midst of just one win in seven Premier League games, it could be about to get a lot more frustrating for the Portuguese boss. just when you might think it couldn’t get much worse for the Portuguese boss.

According to the Mirror, Mourinho is now facing up to the prospect of a stadium ban after his latest misdemeanor.

His latest run-in with officials – allegedly arguing with Clattenburg in the Old Trafford tunnel after the referee opted against giving United a penalty for a challenge on Matteo Darmian – comes just days after Mourinho was charged by the FA for comments made about referee Anthony Taylor ahead of the recent United-Liverpool clash.

The kicker? The fact that a suspended stadium ban dating back to his days as Chelsea manager only expired earlier this month.

This time he could face another stadium ban or at least a lengthy touchline ban after eye-witnesses confirmed Mourinho challenged County Durham official Clattenburg on the way to the dressing rooms.”

Although the 53-year-old manager hasn’t yet been formally charged for Saturday’s incident, he can surely expect the powers that be to issue some form of statement in the next 24-48 hours.

Given the way things have been going recently, he will surely be hoping that the punishment doesn’t extend as far as a complete ban from stadiums come match day.

With United falling off the pace in the Premier League during a run of three league games with scoring a goal, Mourinho surely needs to be on the touchline if he is to address what is increasingly looking like a worrying situation at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils boss has until 6 p.m. on October 31 to respond to his misconduct charge relating to his Taylor comments.

Unfortunately, by that time, he could be dealing with a whole new issue just as United head into a difficult run of games that includes; Fenerbahce away, Swansea City away and Arsenal at home.
