Liverpool Star Edging Closer To Exit Wanted, Two Italian Clubs Lock Horn To Sign Him 1

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp made some decent purchases in the transfer window this summer and have managed to get the club close to its previous best early this season.

The manager will be happy with the performances of the likes of Sadio Mane and Joel Matip but one player who still divides opinion at Liverpool is the now first choice goal keeper Loris Karius.

The German, who was voted the second best goal keeper by the players in the Bundesliga last season, made a move to Anfield for £4.2m and has instantly snatched a place in the starting XI from Simon Mignolet.

The Belgian has been the first choice at Anfield for more than a couple of seasons now but he has been the most error prone keeper in the league for this period of time, making him a liability at the back for the Reds.

That has seen the manager replace him with Karius, who himself has not made a great start to his career at the club. Karius has looked nervy at times and has not really made an instant impact on the squad but Klopp recently revealed that he has decided to play Karius as first choice for the rest of the season.

This leaves Mignolet with a place one in the cup games and it is clear that the 28-year old is not happy playing second fiddle at the club. He has recently revealed in an interview that he will fight hard for his spot but went on to say that he cannot stay as a second choice for long at the club.

This has give rise to rumors that he will up for sale at the end of the season and there are a few clubs in Europe who want to add him to their squad.

Italian giants Inter Milan and AC Milan are first two clubs to register interest in the Belgian and are reportedly pondering over a move for him as a replacement for their first choice shot stoppers.

Inter Milan have Samir Handanovic as their first choice shot stopper this season but he has been extensively linked with a move to Arsenal and Chelsea in the recent transfer window and the Italian outfit are keeping tabs on Mignolet to replace him if needed.

AC Milan on the other hand have one of the brightest youngsters in Europe in Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 17-year old is one of the most attractive targets in the next transfer window and reports suggest that Juventus are lining him up as a replacement for Gianluigi Buffon on goal in Turin.

It will be interesting to see if any of the above moves transpire in the next transfer window but Simon Mignolet seems determined to leave the club if he is second choice and there will be no shortage of clubs ready to pounce on him.

Do you think Mignolet can move to a top European club after his stint at Anfield?
