Former Man United Star Hits Back At Club After Being Controversially Sold!! 1

Bayer Leverkusen star Javier Hernandez has taken aim at his former club Manchester United in a not so subtle dig about his goalscoring record in England.

The Mexican international was a firm favourite with the United faithful during his time with the club, but proved to have a frustrating spell at Old Trafford with a large number of his appearances coming from the bench.

Despite this, Hernandez scored 59 goals in 156 matches with the club, and when pressed whether he felt he had something more to prove in the Premier League, the 28-year-old wasted no time in denying these allegations.

‘No, definitely not,’ Hernandez said.

‘Any minutes I had on the pitch at Manchester United, I tried to do my best. Thankfully, the numbers are positive for me.

‘When I left I had the fourth[-best] record in history of minutes and goals in the Premier League. That’s what I had at United.’

Hernandez’s Leverkusen side are in London tonight, facing Tottenham at Wembley Stadium for their fourth fixture in the Champions League group stages.

Only Hugo Lloris’s heroics allowed Mauricio Pochettino’s side to draw in Germany with the pharmaceutical giant- backed outfit.

Two wins from their remaining three games would see Tottenham progress, but they have not won in their last five games, with Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld absent from the team.

Therefore, Hernandez and his manager Roger Schmidt will be hoping to improve their record on the road in Europe, having only won two of their last twenty-four attempts.
