Arsenal star midfielder Mesut Ozil is on the verge of signing a new five-year deal after months of talks and negotiations, according to reports.
The 28-year old has been in brilliant form this season and has looked at his best so far with Arsenal since joining from Real Madrid for a massive £42million in 2013. The German midfielder has taken his time to settle in London and has earned the plaudits of critics for his impressive chance creation in the final third till last season.
However, he looked a completely different player this season as he is being continuously scoring for the club across all competitions and already is having his best season in terms of goals this season.
He has already scored seven goals this season compared to eight goals last season across all competitions and remains part of the club in future as Arsenal are keen to tie down the key players on long term contracts to see the team intact once Wenger leaves the club.
According to Daily Mirror, Arsenal is looking to tie down Ozil on a five-year long deal that would see him earn £160,000 per week. The new deal meant Arsenal will have Mesut Ozil though his prime time until he is 33 before the player can make a decision on his future.
Arsenal would be happy as the German star has been linked with a move away from Emirates in the summer with clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich linked. However, the player is happy with the progress made by Arsenal this season and has been pivotal to their success so far.
Ozil is one of the key players for Arsenal are looking to tie down and the club are also looking to tie down Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin with the futures of both the players uncertain amid interest from clubs across Europe.
