India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has donated Rs. 5 Lakh to crowd-funding project for Indian Kabaddi. The money will be used for betterment of facilities for the game and also to encourage more players to take up the game as a profession.

Kabaddi has become one of the most vital games in the country over the past few years as Pro-Kabaddi has been able to draw attention of record number of audience across the country and the Indian Kabaddi team also managed to clinch the World Cup recently.

“It’s the right time to do our bit for Kabaddi, more so now that we have won the Kabaddi World Cup. Being a sportsperson who has been a part of the World Cup winning team, I would like to make this contribution for the development of Kabaddi and encourage more players to take it up with passion and pride,” Yuvraj Singh said.

“Kabaddi has begun gaining limelight in the world of sports and it is bound to flourish because it is a true sport that demands excellent athletic abilities ,” added Indian Kabaddi captain Anup Kumar.

Yuvraj has been highly active in the charitable activities and has invested heavily in a few startups. He also supports nearly 10,000 under-privileged children through his foundation YouWeCan.

As far as Cricket is concerned, the southpaw has been impressive in the Ranji Trophy so far. After his knock of 260 against Baroda, the southpaw played a useful 85-run knock against Uttar Pradesh to help Punjab win by sevem wickets to get back into the thick of things as the domestic tournament is set to gear up for knockout rounds in the coming days.
