Did Liverpool Drop Major Hint About Coutinho's Future by Moving For This Barcelona Star? 1

After a not so exciting summer transfer window before the start of the previous season, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool had one of the most successful summer transfer windows this year and the club is already reaping benefits of the purchases in the summer.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and Loris Karius have all assumed important places in the first team and have taken the club to the top of the table after 11 games of the season, going into the international break.

Klopp’s summer business painted a clear picture of what he will do at the club but with the club looking a bit weak in few positions, the manager might yet again spend in the January transfer window to his first XI.

The Reds were dealt a blow earlier this week when it was reported the La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to move for inform attacker Philippe Coutinho in the next few transfer windows.

With 6 goals and 6 assists in 14 games in all competitions, Coutinho is the most effective player in the domestic circuit in England so far this season and is attracting interests from some top clubs.

Real Madrid and PSG are also monitoring his situation while Barcelona are reportedly preparing a £68m bid for him next summer. Though reports later revealed that Coutinho does not have a release clause and that he is happy at Anfield, it is hard to see the big European clubs fail to meet the valuation for years to come.

So it does not come as a surprise that Klopp is now looking for attacking options to add to his squad just in case.

This has seen him linked with a move for Barcelona star Arda Turan.

The former Atletico Madrid star moved to Barcelona a couple of years ago but is yet to cement a place in the starting XI. He had some impressive performance in these years but it does not look like he is an integral part of the squad at the Camp Nou this season.

It is increasingly evident that he is unhappy in Spain at the moment and Klopp, who holds Turan in the highest regard is reportedly ready to make a swoop in January.

Though this link has nothing do with Philippe Coutinho and his move to Barcelona, it is hard to ignore a replacement scenario.

Liverpool have a strong attacking lineup with enough cover even for injuries. Though they will lose Mane after the turn of the year, it is hard to see Klopp spend big on a player who will be back to the bench after the return of the Senegalese winger.

Turan is an intelligent player, who, at his age, will take no time to settle into the squad at Anfield but with the club already having enough attacking options, it is hard to see him get any game time at the club this season.

So do you think Turan is linked as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho?
