Video: Mohammad Shami Breaks Alastair Cook's Off-Stump With A Brilliant Delivery 1

Nothing is more pleasing to the eyes than the sight of flying stumps for a bowler and it becomes even more special when he dismisses the best batsman of the opposition.

Well, Indian fast bowler, Mohammad Shami did exactly that as a peach of a delivery from him completely destroyed England skipper Alastair Cook’s off stump early in the innings to give the hosts a brilliant start. The right-arm pacer was looking in a good rhythm right from the first over and troubled the English batsman with some short stuff in the first over. In fact, he could have dismissed Cook in that very over when the left-handed batsman failed to judge the bounce of a delivery and almost gave a return catch to Shami.

Shami was finally rewarded for his perseverance in the next over. After seeing the English batsman leaving the first two balls, Shami bowled one that pitched up just on off and came in sharply to dislodge Cook’s stumps and break the off-stump into two parts.

Here is a clip of that brilliant delivery:

Meanwhile, resuming the day on 317 for 4, India were all out for 455. At the time of writing, England were 20 for 1 with Haseeb Hameed batting on 5 while Joe Root was playing on 13.
