The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is mulling to appoint Shoaib Akhtar as the bowling consultant for National Cricket Academy to mentor young players. If appointed, Akhtar will be the second big name to be roped in as a consultant at NCA, which is situated in Lahore. Just like Akhtar, the board is mulling to appoint Rashid Latif to perform the role of a wicket-keeping consultant.
To take a note, they have already appointed the former leggie Mushtaq Ahmed as the spin bowling consultant.
“The former cricketers being appointed as consultants will be assigned special tasks,” Zia told The Express Tribune. “They will be working with cricketers playing at the U-16 level all the way to players of the national team.”
“These cricketers have loads of experience and it would be highly beneficial for our cricketers especially the youngsters,” he said.
