IND vs ENG 2016, 2nd Test: Twitter Reacts As India Continue Dominance In Vizag 1

Virat Kohli’s men are firmly in the driver’s seat after the conclusion of the Day 2 of the second Test against England at Vizag. In reply to India’s first-innings total of 455, the English team finished were 103 for 5 at stumps.

Earlier, resuming the day on 317 for 4, Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin added 34 runs for the fifth wicket before Moeen Ali dismissed Kohli, who scored 167. The visitors threatened to stop India from getting a big score when they got rid of Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja in quick succession but a 63-run partnership between Ashwin and debutant Jayant Yadav steadied the ship and helped the hosts cross the 400-run mark.

In reply, the visitors started poorly as their skipper Alastair Cook was castled by Mohammad Shami with only four runs on the board. A 47-run partnership between Joe Root and Haseeb Hameed stabilised their innings but Hameed’s suicidal run-out gave the Indian bowlers an opportunity to get back into the game and they duly obliged. Ashwin dismissed Ben Duckett (5) and Joe Root (51) while Jayant Yadav accounted for Moeen Ali. Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow will start the proceedings with the bat on the third day.
