Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus in case they fail to keep Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates.

The Chile international, whose current contract with the Gunners expires after the 2017-18 season, has kept the club guessing with his stance on the contract extension which has raised speculations about his future with the North London outfit. Reports have claimed wage issues for the delay in the contract as the Chilean, who currently earns £130,000-a-week, is demanding a new deal worth £200,000-a-week and a buy-out clause inserted.

His situation has put the clubs on a red alert with Manchester City and Juventus highly interested in signing the Arsenal star. And the Daily Mirror has claimed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is already eyeing a replacement for the forward.

The news outlet claimed that the Arsenal gaffer is a long-time fan of the Germany international and sees him as an ideal replacement for one of the most impressive players for the club in recent times.

Reus has been linked with the Gunners in the past but the German giants managed to keep hold of him. However, the club might sell him due to his fitness issues. The winger has struggled with fitness in recent times and has currently returned to action after a six-month injury lay-off.

Meanwhile, after handing their right-back Hector Bellerin a new lucrative deal, the Gunners are trying to tie down Mesut Ozil. The German star has also avoided signing a new deal so far due to wage issues but reports are suggesting that he is close to penning a contract extension. Reports are suggesting that senior defender Laurent Koscielny has also agreed to a new contract which will keep him at the Emirates until 2020.
