Amit Mishra | Haryana Ranji team |
Amit Mishra appeals for a wicket.

Amit Mishra, the Indian off-spinner, is set to appear for Haryana in the seventh round of Ranji Trophy as BCCI has released him to participate in the tournament. Earlier, BCCI also released left-handed opening batsman Gautam Gambhir to play for Delhi, however, BCCI did not release Ishant Sharma.

Amit Mishra will return to take up the captaincy duties to lead Haryana in next game against Goa at Ghaziabad. Currently, Haryana sits at the second position in Group C with 2 wins, one loss and three draws with a total of 19 points in their account. Mishra’s addition in the team will strengthen  Haryana bowling line-up as he will spearhead the spin department along with Yuzvendra Chahal, who is himself one of the aspirants for limited overs squad.

Interestingly, Amit Mishra was replaced by Jayant Yadav for the second Test match at Vizag. Jayant has always played under Amit Mishra and now it is Jayant who is representing India and Mishra is back to play for Haryana. Surely, Mishra would be eyeing to make a comeback in playing XI with  good performance in Ranji Trophy as BCCI is yet to announce the squad for remaining three Test matches.
