BCCI Turns Down 'Out Of Budget' Zaheer Khan's Offer For Bowling Coach's Role 1

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has turned down Zaheer Khan’s offer to become the bowling coach of Indian cricket team as according to sources, Zaheer is demanding a higher price for his services and in addition to that, he is also reluctant to take this job as a full timer.

Sources claim Zaheer was demanding a skyrocketing amount of Rs. 4 Crores for 100 working days which pinched BCCI and his unavailability was another reason why the board has turned down his offer. Currently, Indian team is without a bowling coach and Anil Kumble, the head coach, has already said he needs a bowling coach.

“The process to involve Zaheer was to have his services over a long period. It was turning out to be an expensive deal, and BCCI lost interest in hiring him. Zaheer also has a few things lined up and he can’t be a full-time coach right now,” a source close to TOI informed them.

Zaheer has been in contention for this role since the day he retired and fans were unable to fathom why he is not taking up the role. With this secret information coming out, all the rumors and stories regarding this have come to an end. The BCCI will now have to look for a new prospect.

In an international career spanning 14 years, Zaheer Khan played 92 Tests and 200 ODIs for India before calling it a day in 2015.
