Twitter War: Chelsea Fans Like To Swap One Man United Player For Willian 1

Willian was the one shining light for Chelsea in an otherwise dismal campaign last season.

The Brazilian scored five goals and registered 10 assists in the Premier League for the Blues. He also bagged six more goals in the cup competitions, including five in Europe.

Few would have predicted that Willian would find himself out of favour under Antonio Conte, the revered Italian coach who replaced Guus Hiddink in the summer.

The 28-year-old missed Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Leicester City in mid-October following the death of his mother and has played just 26 minutes in the four Premier League fixtures since then.

In both the 5-0 win over Everton and the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough, Willian failed to even make the subs’ bench.

Of course, it’s possible that Conte has given the South American some additional time to come to terms with the mother’s passing.

However, an increasing number of Chelsea fans are starting to believe Conte simply doesn’t fancy Willian.

And with Victor Moses currently playing so well on the right flank, the former Shakhtar Donetsk star faces a battle to win back his place in the Blues’ starting line-up.

Chelsea fans on Twitter would swap Willian for Anthony Martial

Reports this week have linked Willian with a shock move to Manchester United where, of course, Jose Mourinho is the manager.

Willian flourished under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge and a reunion might suit both parties.

Some Chelsea fans, rather surprisingly, would be up for the club selling Willian – but only if it means obtaining the services of Anthony Martial in return.

Mourinho has warned Martial that he’s running out of chances to impress at Old Trafford and a significant number of Chelsea fans would take the France international in return for Willian.

Despite his recent struggles, few United fans would be content if such a deal took place.

Martial showcased his immense talent and potential last season, scoring 17 goals in 49 appearances in his debut campaign in England, and still hasn’t turned 21 yet.
