AUS vs SA 2016, 3rd Test Twitter Reactions: Match Evenly Poised As South Africa Take Narrow Lead 1

A fighting half-century from Steven Cook has left the third and final Test evenly poised as South Africa ended their third day on 194 for 6, with their overall lead extended to 70 runs.

Earlier, resuming the day on 307 for 6, Australia were all out for 383. Usman Khawaja top-scored for the hosts with 145 runs. He was dismissed when the scorecard read 327 runs but a half-century from Mitchell Starc helped the Aussies to take a vital 124 runs lead.

In reply, South Africa started poorly as Dean Elgar returned to the pavilion even before opening his account. An 81-run partnership between Steven Cook and Hashim Amla steadied the ship for the visitors but after Amla’s dismissal, the Proteas kept on losing wickets at regular intervals.  Steven Cook waged a loan battle and remained unbeaten on 81 but he would be needing some help from the lower order tomorrow if the visitors want to whitewash the Aussies.
