Shocking: This United Star’s Confession After West Ham Draw Will Surely Worry Fans 1

Manchester United seem to be slipping into a dangerous habit of failing to overcome teams despite having two or three times as many shots on goal.

Jose Mourinho’s men have taken just seven points from their last six Premier League fixtures, including four from a possible 12 at Old Trafford.

The visit of West Ham on Sunday resulted in a familiar narrative for the Red Devils with a host of missed opportunities allowing them to snatch a draw from a frustrating evening.

United registered 17 attempts at goal overall – eight of them hitting the target – while ending the match with 68 per cent possession.

A lack of clinical finishing – not to mention coming up against a steadfast defensive unit – has become a worrying trend for Mourinho and his team, a concern echoed by Ander Herrera.

“Their keeper was the best one more time. That happened against Stoke, Burnley and Arsenal,” he told the BBC, per the Evening Standard.

“We don’t know what we have to do to win a game. We have more possession than the opponents. I don’t know, honestly.

“Another game the same. We control the game completely from the kick-off. They score a very lucky goal and then we control and create chances.

“I have had a run like this but not playing good. The way we are playing we are controlling the whole game from the kick-off.

“Football is about scoring goals and finishing and we are not doing that right. It is true,” the Spaniard added.

Herrera raises a valid point about how United have gained little reward for dominating several teams this season.

The Red Devils boast an average of 55 per cent possession and nearly 17 shots per league game, yet have only 18 goals to show for their efforts.

Mourinho has arguably the biggest task of his career ahead of him if he is to haul the Old Trafford outfit back to the forefront of English and European football.

It is not beyond him considering his managerial ability and the glittering squad at his disposal, but it is certainly a concerning time for him and United fans alike.
