Shocking! Plane Carrying Team of Football Players Crashes in Colombia; Leaves No Survivors 1

On what will be remembered as a dark day in Brazil, a plane carrying a domestic team of footballers crashed on Tuesday.

The plane which left Bolivia with 72 passengers aboard was set to fly till the Medellin Airport but could not complete the journey and crashed mid-air, leaving no survivors on board.

A tweet by the Jose Maria Cordova airport revealed there were no survivors in the crash which also involved a football team from Brazil.

The Chapecoense football team from Brazil was due to play in the opa Sudamerica finals in Medellin on Wednesday against Atletico Nacional and they were on their way to the venue when the incident happened.

This crash in Colombia will come as a grave news for the whole football fraternity.

It is revealed that problems with fuel are what might have caused the crash but the accurate reason is yet to be established. The crash occurred at around 10:20 am local time.

“Confirmed, the aircraft license number CP2933 was carrying the team @ChapecoenseReal. Apparently there are survivors,” the Jose Maria Cordova de Rionegro airport, which serves Medellin, said on its Twitter account.

According to local news LAMIA Airlines flight RJ85, which was carrying 72 passengers and nine crew, reported an emergency mid-flight before disappearing.

National newscast Noticias Caracol reported the plane was carrying Brazilian football team Chapecoense, which was heading to play the Copa Sudamericana final against Colombian team Atlético Nacional in Medellin on Wednesday.
