England fast bowler Stuart Broad has proved why cricket is called a gentleman’s game. The pacer, who was hit for six sixes in an over by Yuvraj Singh, left his on-field rivalry behind to attend the wedding ceremony of the Indian batting star.
While every guest who attended the ceremony was looking for some famous Indian personalities, it was the English player who stole the show by turning up for the occasion. With over a week left before the fourth Test, the Indian team also attended the ceremony.
What makes Broad’s gesture even more exemplary is the fact that he went to the ceremony even after his team suffered an eight-wicket thrashing by India in the third Test. The pacer is currently nursing a foot injury and missed the match due to it.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj exchanged vows with his long-term girlfriend Hazel Keech at a Chandigarh Gurudwara on Wednesday, November 30.
The wedding, which was a low-key affair, was performed as per Sikh rituals. The couple will now move to Goa for a Hindu ceremony on December 2. A reception has been planned in Delhi on December 7.
