Gujarat, who piled up a mountainous total of 624 on the board, yesterday, today was able to dismiss Punjab on a total of 247, gaining a lead of 305 runs. They enforced the follow-on on Punjab and asked them to bat again. At stumps, Punjab was at a score of 36/1 with nine wickets still in hands. They will have the challenge to bat out full day tomorrow so as to escape from a win whereas Gujarat will be looking to take those nine wickets to gain a bonus point from this game which will help them in future. A good start right in the first session will be quite helpful for Gujarat whereas Punjab will have an uphill task to play 540 balls.

Goa defeated Andhra Pradesh in a low scoring game at Dhanbad. Batting first, Goa scored just 115 runs in the first innings to which Andhra Pradesh replied by gaining a lead of 44 runs. Goa was somehow able to do well in their second innings and scored 276 runs asking Andhra Pradesh to chase a score of 233 runs in the final innings of the game which they failed to chase as they fell short by a margin of 34 runs. Goa churned out six points from the game keeping Andhra Pradesh empty handed.
