Arsene Wenger Eyeing Sensational Bid For Chelsea Star 1

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly planning a sensational bid for his former player and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas. The out of favour midfielder,  who spent eight years at the Emirates before leaving for Barcelona, has hardly featured for the Blues this term and speculations are high that he might quit Stamford Bridge in the upcoming January transfer window.

And English news outlet Daily Express has reported that the Wenger is willing to offer his former skipper a way out of his Stamford Bridge hell. The Spain international has hardly featured for the Blues this term and made only his second start for the club when he returned to the starting lineup against Manchester City on Saturday to replace the injured Nemanja Matic. However, he is not expected to retain his place in the starting eleven as soon as Matic recovers from the injury. Antonio Conte’s men have been in brilliant form and it is highly unlikely that he will disturb the winning combination.

On the other hand, the report claimed that Wenger is seeing the Spain international as an ideal addition to his midfield to keep his title challenge on track. The Gunners have struggled lately after their inspirational midfielder Santi Cazorla was sidelined due to injury.  Cazorla is ruled out for three months after undergoing surgery on an Achilles problem. In his absence, Arsene Wenger’s man drew thrice and lost once in six matches in all competitions and reports are suggesting that Wenger is desperate to bolster his squad to avoid another campaign without a major silverware.

Fabregas can play an important role in Cazorla’s absence but it will be very interesting to see whether the Blues would be willing to sell such an important player to one of their biggest title rivals.
