Barclays Premier League Team Of The Week: Match Day 14 1

The 14th round of the Premier League fixtures provided much entertainment for the fans around the country. The managers and the players have tried to impose their dominance over the clubs around the table this week and provided some close game for the neutrals.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur got their victories from this game while Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United slipped up. Sunderland and Middlesbrough managed to pick up all three points while WBA, Bournemouth and Stoke have all been excellent.

There were also some brilliant individual performances making our work hard. But here is the Team of the Week for the Premier League fixtures on Match Day 14:

Lee Grant (Stoke City):

Standing strong and helping Stoke hold in to their advantage, Grant, saved more shots than his team took at the other end, and was the man of the game for the Potters.

James Tomkins (Crystal Palace):

Popping up with a goal for Palace in their victory over Southampton, the make-shift right back was superb at both ends of the field on the night.

Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur):

Having touched the ball more times than any other player in any other game this weekend, Dier, had a solid night at the back in the Spurs’ comfortable victory over Swansea.

David Luiz (Chelsea):

Manchester City v Chelsea - Premier League

The heartbeat of the Chelsea defense that has found some rhythm, Luiz, is now one of the most consistent defenders in the League and his exploits with against Manchester City will get him into this side.

Leighton Baines (Everton):

Stuck to his task throughout the game and popped up with the all important equalizer to help his side to a point against Manchester United at home at the weekend.

James McArthur (Crystal Palace):

The highly under-rated midfielder was at his best this weekend as he helped his side shut the door for the Saints in what was a morale boosting victory for the Eagles.

Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea):

Though did not get himself on the score-sheet, the Spaniard was sublime right from the first touch he took in the game against City. He set up Costa for the first goal and also created a number of chances, proving his worth to the manager.

Ryan Fraser (AFC Bournemouth):

AFC Bournemouth v Liverpool - Premier League

Tore apart the Liverpool defense after the manager decided to use him as a part of the two attackers the occupied the two Liverpool center-backs late in the game and picked up a goal and a couple of assists helping his side to a stunning victory.

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal):

West Ham United v Arsenal - Premier League

The Chilean has been in sublime form this season and he took it to the other level against West Ham where he got a 14 minute hat-trick to seal all three points for the Gunners.

Diego Costa (Chelsea):

The Spaniard was the best player for the Blues in the final third as he was constantly knocking on the door, opened the scoring, and helped his side to a victory.

Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace):

One of the many strikers that got a brace this weekend, Benteke, was unstoppable against the Saints this weekend as he picked up a couple of goals to help his side to a much needed victory.
