Revealed: How Paul Pogba Is Creating Major Problem In Arsenal Dressing Room 1

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be a happy man with the performances of his side recently. The Gunners managed to put 5 past West Ham at the weekend in the Premier League as they managed to jump into the 2nd place, 3 points off the top of the Premier League table, 14 games into the season.

The manager will know that the core of the side has been performing well and will hope that they can keep them high on confidence and happy going into the busiest part of the fixture schedule in England.

So it does not come as a surprise that the manager is looking to tie key players in the squad to long term contracts to avoid disrupting the chemistry in the team.

Spanish full back Hector Bellerin was the first player to sign an extension at the club this season but Wenger is still sweating over new deals for former La Liga duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Two of the most influential players for Wenger, Sanchez and Ozil, have been in superb form recently and have helped the side to within 3 points of the top of the table, after a slow start to the season.

The manager has already offered both the players new lucrative deal, as an improvement on their pervious deals, to try and get them to sign but neither player has put pen to paper yet.

With both players having just over 18 months left on their contract and Wenger has little choice but to give in to their demands but if reports today are to be believed, Wenger will be very upset.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsene Wenger is ready to offer the duo a significant pay rise which will see them earn £200,000-a-week on their new contract.

Mesut Ozil, 28, currently earns £140,000-a-week, which is the highest in the team while Alexis Sanchez, 27, earns £130,000-a-week making Wenger’s offer very much an attractive offer.

But with money being spent like crazy all over the league, the star duo are not ready to accept the new wages they are offered and are demanding more.

They are demanding record salaries to be precise if the Sun is to be believed.

According to the reports from the Sun, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are now demanding Arsenal to pay a salary close to what Paul Pogba earns at Manchester United.

The French midfielder gets £290,000-a-week at Old Trafford which is a world record and the Gunners duo want the Emirates outfit to meet that amount to sign a new contract.

Arsene Wenger, who is the third highest paid manager in the Premier League is not really happy with these demands and rightly so.

If Wenger offers the duo their required salary, it will mean that they are drawing more than Wenger himself from the club and the manager is reportedly not too comfortable with such wage structure.

The manager will know the importance of both the players, who are already linked with moves away from the club. They are close to irreplaceable but their wage demand is a bit ludicrous and Wenger might have to think about it long and hard before taking a decision.
