Arsenal are set to face Stoke City in yet another important Premier League fixture this weekend as they look to clinch three points which could help them reduce the point gap with the league leaders Chelsea.
One of the major injury news for the Gunners ahead of the fixture is that Hector Bellerin is inline to make a comeback to the squad after being sidelined for over a month due to ankle injury.
However, long term absentees Mathieu Debuchy, Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker and Santi Cazorla are also ruled out of the game. Three points in this game would keep them right up to the Chelsea and a hiccup by their London rivals could also see them move to top position.
Here we look at the potential lineup for Arsenal against Stoke City this weekend.
Petr Cech is set to comeback to the starting lineup in the the goal as has been the method by Wenger since the start of the season. The defense could see the Gabriel ahead of Jenkinson in the right-back position.
Despite Hector Bellerin expected to be in the squad this weekend, he will be starting on the bench as Wenger would not be keen to force him into the starting lineup. Laurent Koscielny whose has been excellent so far this season will be paired with Shkodran Mustafi who was also equally impressive in the central defense.
Nacho Monreal who is rotated in the recent weeks can be playing as a left back in the fixture. With Santi Cazorla out till March, Arsene Wenger has lesser options in the defensive midfield as he has to opt for Francis Coquelin who can provide technicality in the middle which Arsenal have been missing in the recent weeks.
Granit Xhaka who looked impressive could start ahead of Elneny as the Swiss midfielder has been impressive since his red card. Mesut Ozil is an automatic starter in the team as he is currently in the midst of his best goal scoring season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to start on the left wing after a series of impressive performances in the last one month. Wenger would prefer to go with Theo Walcott on the other side of the attack as the English winger is in the form of his life this season.
Alexis Sanchez is expected to retain the central forward position ahead of Olivier Giroud as the Chilean looked way ahead of his compatriots across the league and has also scored a 24 minute hat-trick last week against West Ham United.
