Luke Pomersbach Went To Watch A Cricket Game But Ended Up Playing!t In 2007 1

What happens when a player who was suspended from his state team goes to watch a match? Best thing is to enjoy the game among the audience and have fun in the time during the time. However, this had not been the case when Australian batsman Luke Pomersbach went to WACA at Perth to watch Australia in action.

The southpaw had a special day of his life on December 11, 2007, as a cricketer as he went to watch T20I between Australia and New Zealand at Perth. But he managed to make a comeback into the Australian national side as he was called into the squad because Brad Hodge was declared unfit just ahead of the game.

Then 23-year old Pomersbach had to change his intentions quickly and get into the team in no time to play as he was there to watch the match casually. He played a handy knock of 15 runs from 7 balls to push the run rate at the end of Australian innings as the hosts won the match comfortably by 54 runs.

But the Western Australian batsman has never represented Australia in any format after that match. However, he is fondly remembered for this instance as he is one of the best players in the domestic circuit for some years after that.

He has also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kings XI Punjab in IPL in the earlier editions and has scored some memorable knocks during his stint in the cash-rich league. Nonetheless, the debut of Luke Pomersbach is one of the strangest things happened in the history of cricket.

Whenever we think cricket is casual, it always surprises with something new which has never happened before.
