Man United Player Ratings- Mkhitaryan, Pogba Shine As Red Devils Beat Spurs 1

Manchester United have managed to secure a narrow and much needed 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. The result meant that United have won their first game in Premier League at their home after 78 days.

The three points are near priceless for Jose Mourinho as the side have been held to three consecutive 1-1 draws off late despite their dominance in each of those games. The winner came from Henrikh Mkhitaryan who scored from a one-on-one position against Hugo Lloris. Here we look at the player ratings for Manchester United after their well deserved victory against high-flying Tottenham.

de Gea- 7

Was impressive as usual. He made a couple of great saves to keep United in the game.

Valencia- 7

Impressive in defence but has failed to replicate his earlier success going forward as Rose has put a check to right wing attack.

Jones- 8

The English defender is continuing to put good performances and making it difficult for Jose Mourinho to drop him.

Rojo- 6

Managed to keep Harry Kane quiet for almost the game but could have conceded the penalty for the shirt pull on Wanyama.

Darmian- 6

Struggled a lot in the left back position as he was majorly exposed to Sissoko as he was left to tackle both Son and Sissoko.

Herrera- 7

Was good with his impressive passing but lacked physicality in few duels but has made a great pass to Mkhitaryan for the winner.

Pogba- 8

Have been the creator of chances for most parts of the game but have failed to score a stunner from the 25-yard free kick as the ball came off the crossbar. Has put in a near perfect shift in the game.

Carrick- 7

Has done his job intelligently as he has provided good cover to shield the central defence.

Mkhitaryan- 9

MOTM! The Armenian has found his feet lately but has been consistently impressing the United fans with his stellar performances. His goal has clinched three points for the team but he was injured during the ending moments of the game which is a cause of concern for the club.

Martial- 5

Was impressive in the attack but has left Darmian completely exposed which has become the focal point for Spurs to attack.

Zlatan- 7

Despite not scoring the goals, Zlatan has been very impressive in the link up play but didn’t have enough chances to score.

Substitutes

Rashford- 6

Committed same mistake as that of Martial as Mourinho got furious on the youngster.

Bailly- 6

Provided steel in the central defence as he played as a defensive midfielder.

Fellaini- NA

Had a little time to influence the game.
