India’s vice-captain Virat Kohli became the fastest player in the history of ODI cricket to score 21 hundreds. He achieved this feat in 138 innings; surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record, who did the same in 200 innings. His 21st century also made him the 5th batsman to score 21 or more centuries in ODI cricket.
Virat Kohli was in splendid form against Sri Lanka as he amassed 329 runs at an average of 82.25. He also lead his troops very well which made him a complete package to deserve the Man of the Series award.
This series win against Sri Lanka would have surely given Kohli the much-needed confidence to lead India well in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and score big and set high standards for the players to perform well throughout the series.
