With his supreme batting and dazzling captaincy, Virat Kohli has just not robbed the attention of his fans but also the former international cricketers. A legend like Sunil Gavaskar has showered praised Virat Kohli for his such innings bot as a batsman and a skipper. But there is one more thing that comes along with the praise. An advice or what we can call as an exposure to motivate him to lead the team in all the formats of the game!
This time it is the former vice-captain Virender Sehwag, whose fancied to become the regular captain of Indian cricket team but his hopes were quashed by the selectors. Virender Sehwag, who till a few months back wanted M.S.D home to continue as the skipper of Indian team, has now had a changed tone as he sees a future captain in Virat Kohli in all formats of the game, “Many questions have been raised on MS Dhoni’s abilities to carry on leading India in the shorter formats of the game, with some wanting the 34-year-old to continue till 2019 World Cup while others suggesting a step-down.”
“Since retiring from Test cricket, Dhoni’s measures to keep himself match-fit have also come under question but the BCCI selectors have refrained from taking any harsh steps thus far.”
“No doubting Mahi (MS Dhoni) is one of the greatest captains the cricketing world has ever seen, but Virat’s consistent performance and hugely impressive leadership skills have started to make everyone wonder when the right time is to hand him over India’s bandwagon in all three formats,” Sehwag said.
Though this is a great piece of advice from him but it is a fact that if Virat Kohli is made the captain of India in all the formats, then this can lead to a clash of thinking as Virat Kohli is an aggressive captain whereas Dhoni has always been known as a defensive campaigner. Dhoni is known as captain cool whereas Kohli doesn’t shy away from giving it back to the face of opposition. Also, Indian team may not have done well in Dhoni’s captaincy from past one yea or so but yes he is the need of the team. At the current moment, we do not have any ready to go replacement for him. Also, his wicketkeeping skills are something which keeps hum ahead of every player present in the country.

But the fact of the matter is that the Champions Trophy 2017 will be a testing time for M.S. Dhoni. If India is able to do the job well next year then Dhoni will be retained as captain whereas opposite can be the case in case of an unlikely outcome.
