Pakistan's Yasir Shah And Wahab Riaz Clash Ahead Of Gabba Test 1

Pakistan bowlers Yasir Shah and Wahab Riaz took to social media to deny the rumors of a heated altercation between both during a team football warm-up session ahead of the first Test against Australia in Brisbane.

Speculations were rife that all was not well between the duo after a photo surfaced showing what appeared to be a confrontation between the two, with Shah placing a hand on his compatriot’s chest. The ESPNcricinfo has reported that the players were on opposite teams for the football game and the fight broke out after a tackle. The report further added the duo had to be separated from each other by head coach Mickey Arthur before being sent off the field.

However, both bowlers took to Instagram to deny the confrontation and put the rumors of bad blood to rest.

In a video posted on the Instagram, Wahab said:“Yasir and I are great friends. Nothing of the sort happened. We are not against each other, there is no disunity between us. We will play together tomorrow, and you have to pray for us.”

Here is that Instagram video posted by The Dawn:

Yasir Shah also took to Twitter to put a photo of himself with Wahab at the team hotel.

Well, Pakistani team management will be happy that two of their key players have sorted the issues before the first Test against Australia which begins on Thursday at the Gabba. The visitors would hope to start the series on a positive note and will look to win their first series Down Under. However, Misbah-ul-Haq’s men will have to be at their best to win the match on a ground where the home team has not lost since 1988.
