Lodha Panel Might Enforce Venue Changes For Australia Series 1
Lodha Panel might enforce venue changes for Australia tour

The Lodha panel and the Supreme Court seem to be losing patience while asking the Board Of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) and state associations to comply with the recommendations. India is se to host Australia next year in February–March and according to reports, the BCCI might change the venues of all matches.

As Rajasthan, Vidarbha and Tripura are the only three state associations to comply with Lodha Panel’s recommendations, they might well be the only three associations who are allowed to host matches.

“Henceforth, starting with the series against Australia, matches will be played only in those stadiums whose associations have complied with the panel’s recommendations” a Lodha panel spokesman quoted.

“If need be, Jaipur and Nagpur will host all the matches of the series. The other state associations have been given enough time to comply but not anymore.”

The BCCI’s move has not gone down well with the Lodha panel, which understands their strategy to gain sympathy from public against the panel.

A panel spokesman quoted “Before every game, the BCCI has tried to earn the sympathy of the fans by claiming they don’t have the fund to host matches”

“It seems like the Board is making it a habit to use public sympathy to get their funds cleared and then refuses to comply with the recommendations of the panel.”

None of the associations which are scheduled to host the Tests have complied with the Lodha Panel’s suggestions. An Australia spokesman said they have no problem with the change in venues and will play wherever they have to.
