Australia Name Unchanged Squad For Boxing Day Test Against Pakistan 1

Cricket Australia (CA) has named an unchanged 12-member squad for the second Test against Pakistan at the MCG, which is scheduled on December 26 (Boxing Day).

The selectors are trying hard to find stability in the squad to allow best in business to do the duty for the national side.

Australian cricket governing body has confirmed that over the next 24 hours, players will be assessed and if there would be any requirement, the selectors would make suitable replacements.

The 26-year-old left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc, who sent down 56 overs in the first Test at Gabba confessed he was “stiff and sore” just before the final day of the day-night Test.

“There’s obviously a few tired legs in there but we got the job done and we have a couple of days off now before heading down to Melbourne,” Starc told Wide World of Sports.

After a close game against Pakistan in the first Test at the Gabba, it’s likely that Australian led-side Steven Smith could go with the same side (first day-night Test in Brisbane) into the second Test.

The 29-year-old fast bowler Chadd Sayers has been named the 12th member of the squad.

Australia’s 12-member squad: Steven Smith (Captain), Matt Renshaw, David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Nic Maddinson, Matthew Wade, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird and Chadd Sayers.
