Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are surely one of the biggest entertainers in the Premier League this season standing in the 2nd place in the points table, 16 games into the season.
The manager will be hoping that his team can maintain the intensity throughout the campaign but will also look to freshen things up in the January transfer window with some additions to his squad.
A number of top class players have been linked with a move to the club recently and the most recent name doing the papers is Wolfsburg outcast Julian Draxler.
A long term target for Arsene Wenger, Draxler, is an exciting play maker who possesses great technique and skill on the ball. He was targeted by many clubs in the summer transfer window but the German outfit were not ready to let him go and kept him at the club for another year.
But after a fall out with the coach at the Volkswagen Arena, the 23, year old is now up for sale in January and yet again an number of Premier League clubs are interested in his signature.
It is understood that French giants PSG are looking to lure him to Paris while Arsenal and Chelsea are also plotting a move for the German international in January.
But according Paul Joyce, a reputed Times’ reporter, Anfield outfit Liverpool are also interested in his signature after the turn of the year.
With Danny Ings injured and Sadio Mane busy on international duty in January, Klopp is looking to bolster his attacking options in January and Joyce has revealed that the German manager has identified the 23-year old as an option for the long term at the club.
The asking price of the player, which is reportedly around the £33.9m mark would be the only issue that Liverpool might face in landing the German star but FSG, the owners of the Anfield outfit, ready to back him up with the cash in January, Klopp might look to Draxler to try and propel Liverpool to the summit in the points table.
The Times reporter also revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s German connection with the player might play a role in his transfer and that even though PSG are currently favorites to land him, Klopp has the power to persuade him to move to Anfield.
Draxler’s style of play will be a perfect suit for Liverpool and if he is give enough time at Anfield, he can turn out to be a top class attacker for Liverpool in years to come. His price may be high, but he is the kind of a player who can win games for his side and Klopp should not pass this opportunity to add him to his squad.
