Discarded India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has quashed all rumors regarding him joining the political party Indian National Congress. His statement came after captain Amarinder Singh, former Chief Minister of Punjab and face of the party, said in the upcoming assembly election that they are ready to welcome Harbhajan in their party.

From then, there was a talk that the Indian offie might soon join the Congress party. But Bhajji himself quashed all rumors by saying: “I don’t know where this came from but let me make it very clear that I have no intention of joining any party or contesting any elections as of now. I am soon going to play for Punjab in Mushtaq Ali T-20 tournament and cricket is my only priority.

“I haven’t spoken to anybody so I don’t know who and why these rumors are being spread,” Harbhajan told India Today

Harbhajan Singh skipped the full Ranji Trophy 2016/17 season despite being named as the skipper of the team for one game.

There are also rumors that Navjot Singh Sidhu, the former Indian cricketer, may also join Congress.

In this season of Assembly election, Praveen Kumar, the Indian pacer recently joined the Samajwadi Party. Earlier, Laxmi Ratan Shukla and S. Sreesanth also contested Assembly elections held this year.
