Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has been offered an incredible £700,000-a-week deal to leave Old Trafford in favor of a move to Chinese Super League.
The 31-year old has seen a huge dip of form this season which has prompted new manager Jose Mourinho to drop Rooney from the starting lineup a number of times so far. However, Rooney could have one big final deal if he prefers a move to China.
Wayne Rooney has been the poster boy for Manchester United since joining them in 2004 from Everton and have won every trophy available at club level with the Red Devils. He has been their main man in front of goals for over a decade and could now well be tempted to earn more in the fag end of his career.
Chelsea midfielder Oscar have hit headlines after completing a sensational £60 million move to Shanghai SIPG which will see him earn a staggering £400,000-a-week at the Chinese outfit. Meanwhile, former Manchester United and Juventus striker Carlos Tevez is also linked with a move to China as he is offered a massive £615,000-a-week wages.
However, according to Daily Mirror, Wayne Rooney could be offered even more than that of Carlos Tevez as he will become the highest paid footballer if he prefers a move to China with top sides like Guangzhou Evergranade and Beijing Guoan are ready to make a swoop for him next summer.
Wayne Rooney is currently earning a massive £300,000-a-week at Manchester United which already makes one of the highest paid footballers but the astronomical wages offered by Chinese clubs would take the level of income for footballers to a whole new level if the deal falls through.
With Premier League managers expressing their concern over China’s financial power, it could well be the way for more talented footballers in the coming days as the Far East seems to become more likely destination in the upcoming years.
