Narendra Modi Congratulates Team India For 4-0 Win Over England in Mann Ki Baat 1

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has congratulated Ravichandran Ashwin along with Virat Kohli led Indian team for their historic 4-0 win over England in Tests, during his last Mann Ki Baat episode with All India Radio (AIR) on Sunday.

Showering some glittery words, Modi said the team as a whole has performed brilliantly and deserves appreciation. He later mentioned Ravichandran Ashwin’s name, saying his all-round performance helped India pocket a big win over their on-field rivals England in Tests and also congratulated him for bagging the coveted ICC Test cricketer of the year  and Cricketer of the year award.

Thanks to the handy performances from the Indian skipper and vice-captain, Indian team have climbed up to the number one position in ICC Tests Rankings.

“Performance of Indian Cricket Team has been phenomenal this year, congratulate the team for beating England 4-0. I congratulate India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on being named as the ICC Cricketer of the year and Test Cricketer of the year.”

While addressing the country, Modi also shed some light on the Junior Hockey team for winning the world cup after a gap of 15 years.

“Our sportsperson and sportswomen have made us proud. After 15 years our Junior Hockey team has won the world cup, I congratulate all the young players.”
