Arsenal’s loan star Jack Wilshere has named bitter rivals Chelsea as the best team in the Premier League. The Blues have been in dominating form so far this season as they have now won 12 games in a row in the league after thrashing Bournemouth 3-0 in the boxing day fixture at Stamford Bridge.
The result meant Chelsea are six points clear at the top with Liverpool at second going into the New Year fixtures. Meanwhile, Arsenal who had a brilliant start to their campaign have lost their momentum after losing two games to Manchester City and Everton. Gunners are currently at fourth and are nine points away from Chelsea’s point tally.
The 24-year old also believes that the Blues are on the right path to clinching the league at the end of the season as they are seriously dominating the league over the past three months.
‘They look like champions at the minute, for me, at the moment they’re the best team in the league,’ said Wilshere.
‘There’s still a long way to go, of course, you can’t say they’re definitely going to win the league but at the minute they look like the strongest.
‘They’ve found this new formation that works for them. I’ve always thought it’s a tough place to come anyway.’
Antonio Conte’s side is now looking to equal all-time highest consecutive winning streak set by Arsenal. The Blues need two more wins to equal Arsenal’s 14 game winning streak and Blues will have to beat both Stoke City and Tottenham at White Hart Lane to clinch the glorious record.
Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere is continuing his impressive progress under Eddie Howe at Bournemouth as he made 16 Premier League appearances for the club so far. He will be offered a new deal by Arsenal in the next couple of months as Wenger sees him back playing a big role at Emirates in the coming years.
