BBL 2016/17: Brendon McCullum, Chris Lynn Fifties Too Much For Hobart Hurricanes 1
KKR have big hopes from Chris Lynn

It was an all batsmen show at the Gabba where the bowlers were bashed all across the park and at the end, Brisbane Heat emerged as the winners by seven wickets with 22 balls to spare.

Brendon McCullum won the toss and invited Hobart to bat first. It was the second consecutive day when a team batting first was able to put up a big total on the board despite lack of major contributions from a particular batsman. Daniel Christian was the highest run-scorer as he hit 33 off just 23 balls. Regular wickets prevented Hobart batsmen from continuing on the same track for long and thus the team asked Brisbane to chase 174 in the second innings.

In reply, Brisbane Heat did not have a great start as they lost the first wicket on a score of nine but it was a sort of blessing in disguise for them as McCullum and succeeding batsman Chris Lynn plundered 109 runs off just 53 deliveries. McCullum smacked 72 off just 35 deliveries including 10 fours and four sixes before being dismissed by Cameron Boyce. McCullum’s dismissal had no impact on Lynn as he continued the bang-bang and guided the team to an easy win.

Lynn’s six off Shaun Tait, that went on to travel for 121-meters, was the highlight of the game He was awarded the man of the match award for his quickfire innings of 84*. Brisbane Heat now have three wins in as many matches in BBL 06 so far.
