In the latest Test team rankings released by ICC, India have survived a scare from New Zealand but thankfully are still placed at sixth position while Pakistan have dropped a place to fourth position after the crushing defeat they suffered at the hands of New Zealand in the third Test at Sharjah.
The win meant that New Zealand gained one rankings point and now are just two points behind India, who have 96 points. South Africa top the rankings with 124 points and Australia are at second position with 117 points.
Both New Zealand and India will have a chance to progress further up the Test rankings when they play Tests against Sri Lanka and Australia respectively.
