Twitter Explodes as Supreme Court Sack BCCI President Anurag Thakur 1

Not a memorable start to the new year for BCCI president Anurag Thakur, who on the very second day of 2017, i.e on Monday has been sacked from its post by the Supreme Court of India.

The decision came in as a shock for the cricketing fraternity across the nation, as board seemed to have lost the long fought battle against the Lodha Panel, who laid down a handful of recommendations for a change in cricket’s governing body in India after the IPL spot-fixing fallout in 2013.

Supreme Court, however, in their latest verdict removed the top brass of BCCI, including Ajay Shirke, the honorary secretary of BCCI following the warning issued by the apex court to Anurag Thakur for Perjury which stands as a criminal offence and can lead to a seven-year jail term.

From former cricketers to commentators, everyone took it on social media to express their thoughts.
