Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping their eyes on League Two young striker Ollie Watkins, according to Clinton Morrison.
The Exeter striker is in unbelievable form at the moment as he managed to bag four goals in five games in the month of December to win a nomination for the League Two player of the month award.
Morrison, 37, who also plays alongside Watkins over the past two years believes that there is plenty of interest over signing the youngster as he is set to break into the Premier League in the coming days.
Morrison told Sky Sports: “There’s a young lad when I was at Exeter who is doing well – Ollie Watkins.
“The young lad has got great potential. He’s their top scorer and there’s a lot of teams watching him.
“We used to only have two or three scouts at every game then, suddenly, this young lad started scoring and there’d suddenly be 20 scouts at a game – some from Arsenal and Manchester United.
“Therefore, I do believe this kid is one to look out for. He has got great potential and eventually, one day, I think he’ll reach the Premier League.”
The highly rated young striker has so far scored 19 goals for Exeter in 52 appearances since breaking into the first team last season.
However, despite the progress made by the youngster both Manchester United and Arsenal have plenty of fire power upfront as both the clubs looked efficient in their attacks. A move for the striker might not come this January as both the clubs can still look longer at least till summer before making a move for him.
Manchester United have Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is in prime form and also possess the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial who can play as a No.9 if called upon. Meanwhile, Arsenal have also found an excellent option in Alexis Sanchez this season as a central forward as the Chilean is in incredible form in front of the goal. The Gunners also has the likes of Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud who have looked excellent so far this season.
