Tributes have been pouring in from all quarters ever since Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as the limited-overs skipper of the Indian team. One of the finest (captain) the game has ever witnessed, Dhoni is by far the most successful Indian captain.

A man of many firsts, he led the team to victory in the 2007 World T20 in South Africa, the 2011 World Cup in India, and the 2013 Champions Trophy in England and is the only captain in the world to have won all the ICC trophies. The 35-year-old led India in 199 ODIs, 72 T20Is and 60 Tests. And the latest person to acknowledge Dhoni’s remarkable record as captain is Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

The world No. 1 Test bowler took to Twitter to wish the outgoing limited-overs skipper and asked him to get back to his devastating best with the ‘wild willow’. Dhoni has been struggling to get going with the bat in recent times but he will now have the chance to play with more freedom which might help him find his old form.

The whole country is wishing to see the vintage Dhoni and Ashwin is no different. He tweeted:“What an unbelievable ride it’s been #msdhoni ,u managed to pull through some stellar records as a leader.Wield the willow wild now???”

The tweet is also a huge indication that everything is fine between the duo. The off-spinner received a lot of criticism on social media after snubbing his former skipper from his thank you speech after winning the ICC Cricketer of the Year and ICC Test Cricketer of the Year 2016 awards.
