Arsenal have looked decent so far this season as they maintained a level despite a few hiccup in the first half of the season. The Gunners are currently in the fifth position in the Premier League as they are currently eight points adrift of Chelsea.

Wenger has been brilliant in the summer transfer window as he managed to sign Shkodran Mustafi, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Perez to strengthen the team which has so far proved fruitful for the Gunners. Here we look at all the transfer stories surrounding Arsenal in the ongoing transfer window.

Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has revealed that the Serie A outfit have rejected a massive £56 million bid for striker Andrea Belotti.

The Gunners are keen to sign a star forward as they are looking to have an ample backup in their roster should Alexis Sanchez decide to leave the club in summer.

He was quoted by Sky Italia as saying that: “We received and refused a €65m (£56m) offer from Arsenal for Andrea Belotti, but it does not reflect the value of the player.

“He is going nowhere for now. We want to enjoy him, then we’ll see what happens.”

Arsenal star midfielder Mesut Ozil has confirmed that he will commit his long-term future to the club only if the club are willing to extend the contract of Arsene Wenger.

The 66-year old Frenchman is into his last year of his contract and there has been speculations of him leaving the club at the end of the ongoing season.

Mesut Ozil, who is a huge fan of Wenger which played a role in his move from Real Madrid, will now decide his future at the club once Wenger’s future is decided.

‘I am very, very happy at Arsenal and have let the club know that I would be ready to sign a new contract,’ Ozil told German magazine, Kicker.

‘The fans want that I stay and now it is just down to the club.

‘They know that I am here most of all because of Arsene Wenger. He is the one who signed me and he is the one whose trust I have. The club also knows that I want to be clear what the manager is going to do.’

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club will exercise the option to extend the contracts of veteran players Santo Cazorla and Per Mertesacker.

Both the players are currently out of the team due to long term injuries and especially Cazorla is the standout star as his absence is clearly by the club currently. Per Mertesacker is close to return than Cazorla as the German has not played a game for Arsenal after suffering a knee injury in preseason this summer.

‘We have an option on both of them and I think we will take it,’ Said Frenchman.

‘The priority first is as football players but as well for their mental guidance.

‘We need to have a balance between youth and experience and they are important in that as well.’

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are keen to make a swoop for Arsenal star forward Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to Don Balon.

The Chilean has not committed his future to the club as he will have only one year left on his contract in the summer and could draw the attention of some of the biggest clubs across Europe.

Atletico Madrid are also ready to pounce on Arsenal for a deal as they are willing to replace Antoine Griezmann who is being heavily linked with Manchester United in the recent weeks.
