This Former Liverpool Striker Has Become A Lethal Goalscorer In La Liga 1

Former Liverpool flop Iago Aspas is currently in the form of his life with rising Spanish club Celta Vigo.

At Liverpool, Aspas managed to accumulate only 14 appearances for the Reds, where he failed to score during his spell at the club from 2013-2015.

But in Galicia, his talent has never been doubted, and he has reached a new level since returning to his boyhood club under the wing of Eduardo Berizzo.

Marcelo Bielsa’s old assistant at Chile has put together a typically dynamic, swashbuckling side in his two and a half seasons at the club, and Aspas has been a big part of that success.

In 2015, the striker went on loan to Sevilla where he made 16 appearances for the side. After his loan spell, Sevilla took him under their wing and signed him. However, during his next stint at Sevilla, he failed to play one single game.

Since then, Aspas has re-joined Celta de Vigo and he is proving himself as a very influential figure with Celta becoming a goal-scoring sensation of late.

With Aspas still only 29 years of age, he still has time to become a Celta de Vigo legend if he continues to score as regularly as he is at present. In yesterday’s game against Malaga, Aspas found himself on the scoresheet twice in their 3-1 victory in the La Liga.

Without a doubt, Iago Aspas is in the form of his life at the moment. Looking at this strike-rate, the Anfield faithful may be wondering where it all went wrong for the Spanish striker at Liverpool.
